Prett Tejura

Former accountant Prett Tejura was born in Kenya, but has lived all her life in the UK. Currently based in Yorkshire, her origins stem from Gujarat, India and she has always had a passion for cooking. Over the past 10 years she has been collecting recipes from her family to pass down to her three children as she wants them to maintain some Indian traditions and culture, and believes that food is an excellent way of doing this.

Prett started teaching after several friends asked her how to cook traditional Indian dishes. She now enjoys showing people that cooking Indian food is easy, fun and exciting.

As well as running classes for The Cooking Rooms, Prett has created her own range of spice blends, Indian pickles and chutneys.
